C1 Expression System


Filamentous Myceliophthorathermophila C1 is a newly raised fungal expression system, which can be used for various proteins production including enzymes and biologic medicines. It is very efficient in protein secretion, and can be easily cultured to high cell densities on relatively low-cost medium. Profacgen provides enzymes and biologic drug production services using C1 systems for scientist in academia and various industries.

C1 is classified as Myceliophthorathermophila isolate, previously known as Chrysosporium lucknowense.

It shows a low-viscosity morphology in culture, which further enable C1’s application in high-throughput robotic screening of gene libraries.

Unlike chemical drugs that can be synthesized in a laboratory, biologic drug, or biologics, can only be manufactured in living cells. Hyper productive C1 expression system is perfect for production of biologics. Recombinant C1 strains were engineered to produce biologics and enzymes for commercial applications. C1-technology platform has been applied as a tool for research and industries. The low-viscosity morphology of C1 enable its use in high throughput screening procedure.

C1 can minimize the cost and overcome the limitations of traditional eukaryotic production systems. It delivers higher purity of protein and is highly robust.
