Product description
Malate enzyme is an important enzyme widely present in animals, plants, and bacteria. It is a key enzyme in malate metabolism. In recent years, the activity of plant MDH has been widely measured and has become a hot topic in antioxidant research. This enzyme requires the participation of coenzyme factors and is divided into NADP-MDH (EC 1.1.1.40) and NAD-MDH (EC 1.1.1.38) based on different coenzyme factors. The main function of MDH is to catalyze the oxidation and decarboxylation of malate to produce pyruvate and CO2, as well as the reduction of NAD(P)+. NADP-MDH catalyzes the reduction of NADP+ to NADPH. This kit can determine the enzyme activity of NADP-MDH by measuring the increase rate of NADPH at 340 nm.
