3-Phosphoglycerate kinase (PGK) is a key enzyme in glycolysis, widely present in animals, plants, and microorganisms. It catalyzes the reaction of 3-phosphoglycerate and ATP to produce 1,3-bisphosphoglycerate, which then produces 3-phosphoglyceraldehyde and NAD+ under the action of 3-phosphoglyceraldehyde dehydrogenase and NADH. By measuring the decrease of NADH, the activity of PGK can be obtained.
