Phosphatases are an important class of hydrolases. Alkaline phosphatase (AKP, EC 3.1.3.1) is a zinc-containing glycoprotein that can hydrolyze various natural and synthetic phosphomonoester compounds in an alkaline environment. This kit provides a highly sensitive, simple, and direct detection method using p-nitrophenyl phosphate (pNPP) as the substrate, generating the yellow product PNP, which has the maximum absorption peak at 405nm. By detecting the increase rate of PNP at 405nm, the activity of alkaline phosphatase (AKP) can be determined.
