Cinnamate-4-hydroxylase (C4H, EC 1.14.13.11) is a key enzyme in the phenylpropanoid metabolic pathway. It can effectively regulate the synthesis of secondary metabolites such as flavonoid compounds, and its activity can be used as a physiological indicator of plant resistance. The principle of this product test is to use cinnamic acid as a substrate, under the optimal conditions of enzymatic reaction, cinnamate-4-hydroxylase catalyzes the substrate to produce 4-hydroxy-cis-cinnamic acid, which has the maximum absorption peak at 340nm under the optimal pH value, and thus the enzyme activity can be calculated.
