Product description

This kit utilizes the dehydration of D-Xylose in a strong acid solution to produce furfural, which reacts with phloroglucinol to form a pink substance. The colored substance has a maximum absorption peak at 460nm upon spectral scanning. By measuring the absorbance of the colored substance, the content of D-Xylose can be calculated.
