Glucose oxidase (GOD, EC 1.1.3.4) is a redox enzyme commonly found in various microorganisms. Glucose oxidase catalyzes the reaction between glucose and oxygen to produce gluconic acid and hydrogen peroxide. Hydrogen peroxide reacts with a specific color reagent to produce a (pink) red product, which has a maximum absorption peak at 510nm, thereby obtaining the activity of glucose oxidase.
