Product description
In the presence of cholesterol esterase (CHER) and cholesterol oxidase (CHOD), a specific surfactant is added to selectively dissolve LDL-C for measurement. Other lipoproteins (HDL, VLDL, chylomicrons) are inhibited by the surfactant and sugar compounds, remaining in the reaction liquid as lipoproteins. The esterase catalyzes the hydrolysis of cholesterol esters to form free cholesterol (FC), which is then oxidized by CHOD to form 4-cholestenone and H2O2. This reacts with 4-aminoantipyrine to form a red quinone compound with an absorption peak at 546nm, from which LDL-C content is determined.
