Mg2+-ATPase is related to the maintenance of intracellular Mg2+ concentration in cells and can catalyze the hydrolysis of ATP to produce ADP and inorganic phosphate while transporting Mg2+. The enzyme activity is determined by measuring the amount of inorganic phosphate.
