Product description

Glutathione usually exists in its reduced form (GSH), but GSH is converted to its oxidized form (GSSG) under oxidative stress. The GSH/GSSG ratio is considered an important indicator in oxidative stress research. This kit contains a GSH masking agent that removes GSH from the sample solution. Under the action of glutathione reductase, GSSG is converted to GSH, which then reacts with DTNB to form a complex with a characteristic absorption peak at 412nm; GSSG is quantified.
