Lyophilized from sterile PBS, pH 7.4, 5 % trehalose and 5 % mannitol.
Bio-activity
Measured by its ability to bind recombinant human CD28 in a functional ELISA.
Molecular Mass
Recombinant Human B7-1 consists of 219 amino acids and has a predicted molecular mass of 25.4 kDa. By reduced SDS-PAGE, the apparent molecular mass of rh B7-1 is approximately 45-48 kDa due to glycosylation.
Endotoxin
< 1.0 EU per 1 microgram of protein (determined by LAL method).
Purity
> 95 % by SDS-PAGE.
BACKGROUND
Background
Produced by lymphocytes activated by specific antigens or mitogens. IFN-gamma, in addition to having antiviral activity, has important immunoregulatory functions. It is a potent activator of macrophages, it has antiproliferative effects on transformed cells and it can potentiate the antiviral and antitumor effects of the type I interferons.
