Soil aryl-acylamidase (Aryl-acylamidase, EC 3.5.1.13) can hydrolyze compounds with amide groups; this kit uses soil aryl-acylamidase to hydrolyze the substrate L-leucine β-naphthylamide to generate β-naphthylamine, which then reacts with p-dimethylaminocinnamaldehyde to form a red azo compound with a characteristic absorption peak at 540nm. By detecting the increase rate of this red substance, the activity of soil aryl-acylamidase can be calculated.
