Soil α-glucosidase (α-GC, EC 3.2.1.20) is widely distributed in microorganisms and is a class of enzymes that can catalyze the hydrolysis of α-1,4-glycosidic bonds from the non-reducing end of substrates containing α-glycosidic bonds, releasing glucose. This enzyme is closely related to sugar metabolism such as starch and has an important physiological function in the sugar metabolism of soil microorganisms. Soil α-glucosidase can catalyze p-nitrophenyl-α-D-glucopyranoside to produce the yellow substance p-nitrophenol (PNP), which has characteristic light absorption at 405nm, thereby obtaining the activity of soil α-glucosidase.
