Lignin peroxidase (EC1.11.1.14) is a heme-containing peroxidase enzyme, part of the lignin degradation enzyme system, and has significant application potential in lignin biodegradation, papermaking industry, textile industry, transformation and degradation of aromatic compounds, and environmental pollution control. Soil lignin peroxidase (S-LiP) oxidizes veratryl alcohol to form veratraldehyde, which has a characteristic absorption peak at 310nm. By measuring the increase rate of veratraldehyde at 310nm, the activity of S-LiP enzyme can be determined.
