Soil peroxidase (S-POD) mainly comes from soil microorganisms and can oxidize soil organic matter to produce peroxides, playing an important role in the formation of humic substances. Soil peroxidase (S-POD) catalyzes the substrate L-DOPA to produce red quinone substances in the presence of hydrogen peroxide, and the colored product is detected at 475nm as the characteristic light absorption wavelength. The activity of soil peroxidase can be calculated by measurement.
