Product description
α-Xylosidase (EC 3.2.1.177) is a type of xylan degradation hydrolase enzyme that exists in microorganisms and other biological entities, promoting the hydrolysis of non-reducing terminal α-D-xylose residues, releasing α-D-xylose. In soil, α-xylosidase catalyzes p-nitrophenyl-α-D-xylopyranoside to produce p-nitrophenol (PNP), which has a characteristic absorption peak at 405nm. By measuring the increase rate of light absorption at 405nm, the activity of soil α-xylosidase can be calculated.
