Sucrose phosphate synthase (EC 2.4.1.14) is mainly found in the cytoplasm and is involved in the growth and development of plants. It is one of the key enzymes in the synthesis of sucrose in plants. Sucrose phosphate synthase catalyzes the formation of sucrose phosphate from fructose-6-phosphate. Sucrose phosphate reacts with resorcinol to form a colored substance with a characteristic absorption peak at 480nm, and the enzyme activity is proportional to the depth of the color.
